The following are modern Greek coins that friends brought back from a recent trip to Greece. They are obsolete coins that are of no value now since Greece use the Euro. I'm posting this for my Greek students (but the rest of you are welcome to play with them also!) Can you read the Greek lettering? It's all caps ("uncial") so it's a bit harder for most first year students since we don't mess with caps much. You can find coins of the same name in the New Testament--though the currency systems and values have changed a lot over the centuries.
